Istanbul Topkapı University was established as a Foundation Vocational School under the name of Plato Vocational School with 4 departments by the Council of Ministers dated 21/4/2009. The university's educational activities, which started with a single building in 2009, continue with 7 campuses and an area of nearly 150,000 m2 in 2024 . Istanbul Topkapı University includes the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Sports Sciences, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Communication, the Institute of Graduate Education and the Plato Vocational School. Currently, it continues its efforts to train graduates who have embraced the culture of entrepreneurship, are highly self-confident, and will contribute to the business world with its 36 master's and 2 doctoral programs, 37 undergraduate departments, and 56 associate degree programs. Istanbul Topkapı University houses the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Plato Vocational School, and the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture on the Kazlıçeşme Campus; the Preparatory Unit on the Balat Campus; the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department and Cooking Program on the Şişli Campus; the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, and the technology-based departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture on the Altunizade Campus; departments of Plato Vocational School on the Bahçeşehir Campus; and the Faculty of Sports Sciences on the Levent Campus. The Yenibosna Campus houses application areas. As part of efforts to train specialized professionals in various fields and provide undergraduate education in our country, Istanbul Ayvansaray University was established by the Ayvansaray Education Foundation with Law No. 6761, published in the Official Gazette No. 29898, dated November 24, 2016, and approved on November 16, 2016. Plato Vocational School was affiliated with Istanbul Ayvansaray University in 2016. In line with student satisfaction and growth, educational services, which began with four departments, continued with more than 60 programs by 2016, and the university ranked among the most preferred foundation universities with high occupancy rates. Istanbul Ayvansaray University, which continues its educational activities with a mission differentiation in the fields of renewal and internationalization, continues its educational activities with a new structure and its name changed to Istanbul Topkapı University with the law number 7382 published in the Official Gazette dated 11/03/2022 and numbered 31775.
